It is our pleasure to announce our Used Book Sale for this school year!  This is an event in which students can donate gently used children’s books to the sale.  All students will then get the opportunity to buy new-to-them books for 25 cents!  Money raised during this sale goes to help support children and families in our community.

Important dates to know:

Nov 3-Nov 21:  Bring your gently used books to RES to donate to the sale.  Place books in boxes outside of the building. Please clearly label bags or boxes with “Used Book Sale.”

Dec 5th - Used Book Sale!  Send quarters in with your student so they can buy books from the sale.  Each book is 25¢!

Thank you in advance for supporting this event.  Together, we can build a stronger community and help foster the love of reading in our students.

Please reach out to Emily Wood, Jacqui Robinson, or Wendy Purvee if you have any questions about the sale.  THANK YOU!

Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year!

We had a wonderful first day of school today seeing all of our new 3rd grade friends!  We spent the day getting to know one another, reviewing school expectations, and learning the new routines in our classrooms.  We're going to have a fabulous year together!

Spring Sailing on Lake Champlain

A sailboat from CSC and a ferry on Lake Champlain.

This spring, our third graders will have the opportunity to visit the Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center in Burlington for their “Floating Classroom” program. During this program, students will experience sailing on Lake Champlain while learning about our watershed, lake ecology, wind, weather, geology, and more. We’ll connect this program to our weather and interdependence science units.

The CSC is a non-profit organization funded by the generosity of donors and grants. The overall cost of this program is $45 per student, but we’re able to offer this opportunity to our students for $30 per person.

We know this is a costly field trip, but the education and experience of the program (including sailing on Lake Champlain) make it worthwhile for all students. There are several different ways that you might be able to support this program before we look into different fundraising options this spring.  Look for a pink handout in your child's home-school folder (they were put in mailboxes yesterday...).

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher.
